Don't expect more Virtual Console released however.
It’s been a big year for Pokemon, but just because the 20th anniversary is over next year doesn’t mean the cool stuff will stop. Not if Series Producer Junichi Masuda has his way. Speaking with IGN, Masuda said this on the possibility of new full game remakes.
“I think the remakes, like Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green, is still an approach we’re interested in, With the Virtual Console releases of the original games, specifically there had never been a way to bring those Pokemon over to the latest generation. It had always been that you couldn’t get those Pokemon out.”
So while there might be more possibilities of remakes of older games, what about the release of more older titles on the Virtual Console?
With the 20th anniversary, it was the right timing to release the original games. I think that we really want to give people the experience of bringing these Pokemon from the original Game Boy and seeing what they look like in Pokemon Sun and Moon. That is something that I want people to enjoy.
The enthusiasm doesn’t seem strong in that quote. With Red and Blue remade, Gold and Silver also recently remade that leaves Diamon and Pearl to be the next ones. Would you want to see those games on the 3DS or possibly the Switch?
Get in quick, they go fast.
