According to recent job adverts, Rockstar North is looking for a Physics Programmer and a Junior Physics Programmer to work on as-yet-untitled games on a number of major consoles, including the Wii and the DS.
Rockstar Games is notorious for ignoring Nintendo consoles in developing its titles. But given the enormous success of last year’s Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (Rockstar’s only DS title), there’s good reason for the company to be exploring the possibility of a sequel. On the Wii, Rockstar Games has previously produced only three games – Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis (2006), Manhunt 2 (2007) and Bully: Scholarship Edition (2008) – all of which have met with decent reception.
Your guess is as good as ours as to what the new games, if any, may be. Who knows? There could very well be a new IP. Keep holding your piss everyone – E3 is under three weeks away now.
