German studio Shinen has announced they’re working on a brand new Jett Rocket game, destined for the 3DS’ eShop. Never heard of Jett Rocket? I hadn’t either, but it seems to be a pretty neat 3D platformer distributed over the WiiWares. It kinda reminds me a bit of Banjo Tooie a little, what with the pretty strong colour design, catoony models and that the main character is wearing a backpack that can make him hover a bit.
But now that backpack is a rocket! It’s also nice to see people catching onto the idea that Nintendo fans probably want more 3D platformers on their systems. No release date though, so I wonder where they’re going to fall around the behemoth that is Super Mario 3D Land.
More importantly, of course, the story reminded me that Shinen is working on a Nanostray sequel for the 3DS. As I’m sure you’re all aware, Nanostray needs a sequel on the 3DS. Right now. Get to it Shinen!
