It’s the week of the Wii U launch and JB Hi-Fi have now added their Wii U launch deals and pricings to their website. JB Hi-Fi on Friday will be selling the Basic Wii U set for $299, matching that or K-Mart.

The Premium Set will set you back $399 if you fancy yourself some Nintendo Land and extras.

Note: We’ve been told the JB Hi-Fi deals only last until Monday the 3rd of December.

In addition to this when you do purchase a Wii U from JB Hi-Fi you can pick from the following 10 games for $40, the selection isn’t the best of the best but there’s still some good games in there.

  • 30 Family Games
  • Mass Effect 3: Special Edition
  • Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Wii U Edition
  • Marvel: Avengers
  • Ben 10: Omniverse
  • FIFA13
  • Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed
  • Just Dance 4
  • Tank! Tank! Tank!
  • Sports Connection

Keep in mind that this catalogue doesn’t have the latest prices for the system that are now on the website. You won’t find this $40 deal on their website though, we got sent it from anonymous tipster. We’ll update our Aussie Wii U Bargain Guide soon with these details.

Along with the new prices for the Wii U, JB has also revealed that the following stores will open from Midnight and have a ‘Launch Event’.

  • JB Hi-Fi Melbourne City
  • JB Hi-Fi Chadstone
  • JB Hi-Fi Eastland
  • JB Hi-Fi Knox
  • JB Hi-Fi Doncaster
  • JB Hi-Fi Chirnside
  • JB Hi-Fi Shepparton

All of which seem to be in Melbourne so far.

Oh wow, about time JB jumped on the ban wagon. This was not expected at all. Also are those titles all for the Wii U or just random consoles? Too bad that JB does not have one open in my area. They seem to be limiting (a lot) which stores will be open, only 3 stores is a tad upsetting. All well. Might just have to break down their door at 9am on the dot the next morning

Unfortunately, I think that they will only allow customers to purchase just one of the selected games for $40 per transaction, which doesn’t really make JB’s deal any better than Kmart (unless you plan on getting the Basic set). At most, you’d probably save $10-$20 by paying for JB’s slightly higher priced Premium set plus the $40 game (compared to Kmart).

In tiny print at the bottom of the catalogue scan it says there is a limit of 1 copy of each game per console. I’d hope this means you can buy 1 of each game @$40, just not multiple copies of each game. I hope that is the case anyway, because for $40 each I’d grab a few more games on launch day!

So how hard do you recon it will be to get EB games to match these prices? There is a few people complaining on FaceBook about not being able to price match at the midnight launch.

From EBs Facebook page “Jem not disappointed anymore. Customer service said the process should be to price match at midnight and they called me store and told them that.

Apparently communication went out to all the stores today.

EB is should price match at the midnight launch

Huh, they are forced to Price Match on Mid Night launch. That is funny, well it is in their policy that they guarantee to price match ANY competitor if they have stock and are open at the time. So, by law, they have to!

Can’t believe my little regional city of Shepparton is holding a midnight launch. It looks so out of place in that list haha, no way did I think there was a demand!

Apparently the EB in Shepparton had the option to do a midnight launch but they didn’t bother as they haven’t got enough preorders. I guess they all went to JB.

JB HiFi advised me that they will match K-Mart’s Deluxe Wii U $379! 🙂 Email them and they will honor K-Mart’s price and then, you can get a $40 game! YAY!

I can confirm this post! Just received a reply from JB HiFi:

“Of course we will take care of you and match that price.
Just come down and speak to us on the day and we will sort that out for you. Have a good day”

Cheap Wii U and $40 games coming why way!!!

I emailed them about my online preorder and they said no because theirs has an accessory pack while K-Mart’s does not. Oh well. 🙁

Well unfortunately here in Wgtn, JBs isn’t opening at midnight for us Ninty fanboys to pick up our brand new shiny Black Wii U’s, so I won’t be able to add to my Wii midnight launch experience which I remember so fondly. However the no 1 thing is that I will have one in the morning. I would like to add the the JBs Wgtn gaming guys are the best you could ask for, all own 3DS’s and are true fans. For all you fellas in OZ going to midnight launches hope you have a cracker of a good time, happy days.
