So that's why it was on the Nintendo DS then...
It seems there really is no stopping the Pokemon series with the latest installment, Pokemon Black and White 2 selling 1.69 million copies in just two days on sale in Japan according to Famitsu. The sales figure comes from the 23rd and 24th of June. Many asked when the game was announced why it wasn’t coming to the Nintendo 3DS and now you know. The Nintendo 3DS just doesn’t have the install base that the DS does to pull these kinds of numbers. The good news is since DS hardware is all but dead in Japan the 3DS should still receive a nice sales boost.
Pokemon Black and White 2 is the first ‘sequel’ to a mainline Pokemon game. It uses the same region and new Pokemon from the original Pokemon Black and White games but has an entirely new story. It’s not a ‘third’ game like Pokemon Yellow or Platinum.
While Japan is now enjoying the game the rest of the world, including Australia will have to wait until later in the year.
Get in quick, they go fast.
