In a crazy move, Nintendo of Europe has announced that it will release Jam with the Band on May 21st. The game, which got its release near the Japanese DS launch all the way back in good old 2004, will finally see a release, all freshly localised and with a new soundtrack.
Jam With The Band is a rhythm game, but instead of your actions simply playing the songs youre are put in charge of one just instrument used to create the song. So depending on what the song has your selection of instruments will change. All of the controls are done on the D-Pad, face and shoulder buttons.
If youre thinking this sounds like Wii Music youd be wrong as while with Wii Music you can do whatever you want to improvise in Jam With The Band you must play the song perfertly. If just playing one instrument sounds boring you can play single card multiplayer with up to 7 other people to do all the various instruments.
The Japanese version of the game featured many Nintendo tracks from the likes of Pokemon, Mario, Zelda and even F-Zero. We suspect theyll be here in the English version too. Also, the game got a sequel in Japan which included online connectivity, hopefully this version is this.
Jam with the Band was rumoured for a long time for release outside Japan, but it just never happened. With the development of DS games now probably slowing down at Nintendo, it looks like theyre digging in the back catalogue for games to release.
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town, Rune Factory 5, Rune Factory 4 Special, West…
Mario & Luigi: Brothership, Miyamoto and Metal Slug Tactics.
Until you see the price, at least.
Put a pin in it.
