Iwata: New Unannounced Third Party 3DS Games on the Way
The Nintendo 3DS is going pretty well right now and Nintendo is absolutely hitting it out of the park with their own titles on the system. But what about third parties? While the 3DS is in nowhere near the same situation as the Wii U things could be better on the third party front, especially from western developers.
Satoru Iwata has spoken positively about the future western third party on the Nitnendo 3DS, not only are there more games on the way but better ones from better teams.
“Recently, third-party software developers overseas have had fewer of their best development studios develop software for handheld devices. However, for this year, the release of several key titles has already been announced, and I have also heard there are more unannounced titles to come.” Iwata told investors on Wednesday.
He also reiterated his plan to help bring big Japanese titles to the west. Iwata also believes that last year some publishers had the view that the 3DS had peaked in western markets. But now with the success and growth of the system thanks to games like Animal Crossing: New Leaf that the 3DS market is still growing.
Iwata also points out that the ‘tone’ of 3DS coverage in the press is much better than before, all the doom and gloom articles of the past have been replaced with upbeat and positive ones and he thinks that’s sure to help the 3DS even more.
Now how about the same for the Wii U?
I wonder if its got anything to do with the forthcoming Okami announcement
