The Opera browser on the Wii has gotten an update and is now free to download for everyone

An interesting message appeared on staff member Tim’s Wii today which announced the Internet Channel for the Wii is now free to download. What if you paid for it, you ask? Well, you’ll be getting your points back, but this offer is only available during October – December and you’ll only be able to buy a NES Virtual Console title.

In addition, the version of Flash has been updated; this was one of the most requested features of the older version. Lots of web based applications used a later version of flash than what the older browser supported, causing many cool video streaming site and game sites to stop working – hopefully this fixes it.
