Announced on the official Super Smash Bros. Miiverse page, director Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed an old face will be returning to the cast of the new games.

Ike from the Fire Emblem series will be joining the ever-growing roster of characters making a come-back from other Smash Bros. titles. Sporting his outfit from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Ike has been described by Japanese commentators as “a gorilla” due to his new body-builder’s physique.

Nintendo have chosen to reveal many new details about the game through the Miiverse site, showing a change in strategy for the company. Previous announcements have included new characters, such as the Female Villager from Animal Crossing, as well as important changes to game mechanics. So what do you think? Is this new open Nintendo keeping you hooked, or is it information overload? Let us know in the comments!
