Over The Top Games WiiWare platformer will drop the Icarian and now be known as NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits

Already out in Australia and other PAL territories, the WiiWare-only platformer has had to drop the ‘Icarian’ for legal reasons. Assumptions that the name change was instigated by similarities to Nintendo’s own ‘Kid Icarus’ have been dispelled by Over The Top Games on their twitter page, which states “Thanks to Nintendo for all the support they are giving to us and our game. This has NOTHING to do with Kid Icarus”.

The game has received its share of comparisons to the NES classic Kid Icarus, sporting similar gameplay elements and design themes. The game is yet to be released in North America, and at the time of posting this story, the game was still available under the title Icarian on the front page of the Australian WiiWare store.
