Hundreds line in Japan for chance to buy Switch as shortages get worse

While you can walk into most stores in Australia and buy a Switch right now, in American and Japan things are a little harder.
Things are so dire in Japan that this weekend stores have started to offer a lottery to would be Switch-purchasers. Hundreds are lining up simply for the chance and those odds aren’t great either with some stores reportedly only having about 40 units. The neon coloured Switch (as you can see in the image below) is in greater supply.
Hopefully, Nintendo can ramp up productions before Splatoon 2 hits, if not then at least Christmas.

Maybe some Apple goers (and Switch wanters) should threaten to boycott Apple devices if they don’t permit to allow hardware manufacturers to split off some manufacturing resources to Nintendo
So you want Nintendo to fund the manufacturing tools required for other companies to make what their making, so that they can then sell it at less of a profit (assuming they would be paying Apple a fee on top of the costs of buying/making more manufacturing hardware required to make more Switch consoles and the costs of materials, time and other stuff, and the cost of shipping the materials to the new factories etc.)?
Hopefully my layby unit has beem put aside and not randomly sold off. That would cause me to be rather cheesed.
