A surprise comes today as Nintendo finally release another channel to the Wii. This time, it’s the TV Guide Channel, which is unfortunately only available in Japan and according to reports won’t be making its way west (though it wouldn’t work here anyway). The Television Friend Channel as it is officially known allows users to view the TV Guide on their Wii. But it goes well beyond that, offering you the ability to highlight programs of interest, rate them and even send them to friends. More inside
Users will be able to also send out alerts to mobile phones and email addresses. However the most crazy addition that the Wii TV Guide Channel provides users with the ability to change the channel, adjust volume and flick between the TV and the Guide by sending out a signal from the Sensor bar which tells the user’s television to switch channels.

As mentioned above don’t expect this channel in Australia or anywhere else in the world anytime soon, if ever. We are ready for our Everyone’s Nintendo Channel, though.
