HM moves have been ‘cut’ from Pokémon Sun and Moon

That's just not going to Fly.

The mainline Pokemon games are set for some of the biggest changes to their core formula with Pokémon Sun and Moon, that change now appears to extend to HMs.

HMs or Hidden Machines have long been a pain in the butt of any travelling Pokemon player. You either had to have one Pokemon to be almost a useless mule on your team or sacrifice a move slot on your good Pokemon. In older games it was so bad you couldn’t even remove an HM move.

However it now appears that Pokemon Sun and Moon has ditched them entirely with the moves now be moved to regular, reusable TMs.

We’ve known for some time that you would be able to ride Pokemon in the game. We’ve seen Charizard used to Fly, Sharkpedo to Surf and even in the Sun and Moon demo you can use Tauros to get around quickly and smash through rocks. With the demo now in people’s hands the game’s data has been ‘mined’ to reveal that HMs are a thing of the past.

It’s possible that this was only for the demo but considering how much the demo contains of unreleased Pokemon and information as well – it’s not likely to change.

As for those other data-mined and leaked details? Well we’re not going to spoil that surprise.
