Hideo Kojima tweet reveals new Zone of the Enders for 3DS?
Prominent artist Takahiro Omori already at work on new mechs
It seems like Kojima Productions must be enjoying their time on Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3, because Hideo Kojima has not so cryptically revealed a new title for the system. “Found this at Omori-kuns desk. Whats this?” he tweets, linking to the below image of a Zone Of the Enders mech with a graphic title in the background that reads “ZOE 3DS”.
Fans of Kojima’s first two mech combat games have been clamouring for a followup to 2003’s Zone of the Enders 2, however the studio has chosen to instead focus on its intensely esoteric Metal Gear Solid franchise. At E3 this year Kojima announced remakes of both franchises for the HD systems, meaning that a new entry in the franchise couldn’t come at a better time. Obviously there’s no word yet on whether this serve as the long awaited ZOE 3, be a spin off or even a remake like MGS3 3DS.
Speaking of the upcoming 3DS remake, Kojima has been showing off the game’s impressive camoflague system, which will turn photos taken by the 3DS into camo patterns for Snake to sneak around in. It’s times like these that make me sad I don’t actually live in a Russian jungle.
The shots are still well worth checking out though.
Props to “victorprime” and NeoGAF for getting to the tweet first.
