In a new press release Nintendo have revealed some new details about Professor Laytons next puzzle-filled adventure, Professor Layton and the Lost Future. The upcoming game promises to be the most epic, tragic and emotionally atmospheric installment yet, and will feature 165 brand new puzzles to solve, as well as a brand new Super Hint guide, which reveals an extremely telling hint, but costs two Hint Coins as opposed to the usual one.
The storyline will see Professor Layton receiving a letter from his sidekick, Luke, but from ten years in the future. This comes after the British Prime Minister disappears in a freak time machine accident. The game will also delve deeper into Professor Laytons shady past, explaining through flashback the story of his lost lover and exactly how he got his hat. More cutscenes than the previous two Layton games are also promised.
Lost Future takes place in London, and the player will be able to control the Laytonmobile, as you drive through the heart of the city, exploring everything the city has to offer, from the tube train to Chinatown. Layton will also have a pet parrot to interact with as well as a storybook to complete by finding different stickers around the game world.
A feature returning from the previous games is the addition of extra downloadable puzzles through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service, although it is not yet known how often new puzzles are to be released.
Professor Layton and the Lost Future is developed by Level-5 and published by Nintendo, set for an October 22nd release in Europe. We should be getting it soon after, or maybe even before.
