Guitar Hero is back and this time Activision is says its about to ‘get real’.

Guitar Hero Live will place you ‘center stage’ in first person, live action view with crowds that react to what you’re playing and how you’re playing. The first trailer shows off what appears to be just a film clip but is indeed the game.

The game is being developed by FreeStyleGames who have previously worked on DJ Hero and DJ Hero 2,
they also worked on Sing Party a launch title for the Wii U that Nintendo went and let die.

The game has an entirely new guitar controller and will not work with the older controllers, on any console. Previously purchased DLC for the Guitar Hero games will not work on this game either.

Bands to be included in Guitar Hero Live so far include  The Black Keys, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Gary Clark, Jr., Green Day, Ed Sheeran, The War on Drugs, The Killers, Skrillex, The Rolling Stones, The Lumineers, Carrie Underwood, Pierce the Veil and Blitz Kids. More bands will be announced before the game is released later this year.

The game will be headed to the Wii U unlike the new version of Rock Band which is also launching later this year. The game will also be released on the Playstation 4 and 3, Xbox One and 360, mobile and tablet devices.

It will be interesting to see if Activision bother releasing the Wii U version in Australia…
