Guitar Hero 5s track list sitting pretty at 85 songs
A healthy mix of old and new rock songs will form the set list for Activisions next entry in the mega-bucks making series of music games, with classics from Kings of Leon, Bob Dylan and Jimmy Eat World rounding out the line-up
The hard-working guys and gals at Joystiq have done their homework, analysing already-announced songs expected to appear on the next Guitar Hero game and have compiled an unofficial track list.
The list contains 85 songs so far, with four of these being offerings from artists who haven’t yet appeared in a Guitar Hero game. What favourites are we looking forward to? The Kings of Leon’s ‘Sex on Fire’- last year’s number one song on Triple J’s Hottest 100 is sure to be a party favourite (speak for yourself Josh – Ed.), whereas the inclusion of two Nirvana classics- ‘Lithium’ and ‘Smells like Teen Spirit’ are sure to bring memories of early nineties grungedom back to many an Aussie household.
A few oddities appear on what is otherwise a very hard-rock focussed compilation. As much as I love Elliot Smith’s ‘L.A’, I’m not sure if it’s the cheeriest song to be playing with your mates, and the rough-edged punk rock stylings of The Bronx may not be to everyone’s tastes.
