Great Britian: Wii pulls in 481 million pounds

A record amount of money was spent on gaming hardware in the UK in 2008 with more than 2.1 billion pounds (thats 4.3 billion kangaroo-dollars) spent in the land of the Spice Girls, echoing the global trend of increased video game sales. Leading the pack in hardware sales was the Nintendo Wii, which generated a stellar 481 million pound ($990 million AUD) flow-through of cash. Coming in second of course was the DS at 366 million pounds ($754 million AUD).
