With how popular the Switch is right now, there are more games being announced than we ever saw happen on the Wii U and rather than post about them all individually, I thought a nice big weekly post which contains all the details for the games of the week, would be handy. Of course, if a big game is announced, that will be covered on its own, but consider this your chance to catch up on all you may have missed; Here are the games announced for Switch this week.
From developer MakinGames, made up of former Rare devs, comes Raging Justice where you take control of Rick Justice or Nikki Rage and take to the streets to fight crime, with your hands. As both characters are police, you can choose to arrest criminals and in doing so, you will be rewarded with health, though if you fight them to the end, you earn more points. The game is very heavily inspired by 90’s arcade beat’em ups, so fans of the genre will want to take note, though notes will be all you have for now as there is no set release date past 2018.
From developer Terahead comes a 4 player co-op rogue-like action game, inspired by 90’s arcade games, here players will take control of one of four cats as they fight their way across 50 stages filled with enemies, lead by an unknown evil, on their path to recover their master. With multiple modes like rogue-like and arena, plus unlockable outfits, each with a unique bonus, players will find that they will need to rely on their cat-like reflexes to survive here.
For something quite different, Hellmut puts you in control of a creature that can literally transform between a host of different forms, each with their own brand of powers and skills, in this twin stick shooter. Get ready to unleash infernal bullet-storm onto hordes of Demonspawn and savage bosses, in randomly generated environments, collecting their souls, coins and weapons, and aiming to perform sweet ‘demonocide’. The game is set to launch onto Switch later in the year, though no window has been named yet.
A Switch exclusive, The Town of Light: Deluxe Edition is bringing the 2017 hit to new players, with a collection of content, like documentaries that allow players to learn more about the hospital at Volterra and the patients contained with in. The game itself has you take on the role of Renée, a young girl who suffers from the symptoms of mental illness and must search for answers to the questions about her past. What happens next is a dark and emotional journey where the lines of interactive entertainment, storytelling and reality frequently tend to blur.
Rocketcat Games and Madgarden are bringing the pixel art, zombie-filled road-trip to Switch, letting players fight hordes of the undead in this randomly generated adventure. Players will be able to take the journey from sunny Florida, all the way up to Ontario in Canada. Scavenging the derelict environment, tough, sometimes hilarious decisions will have to be made along the way, either alone or in its two-player co-op mode.
The world of music once again under threat and only Frederic, or as he is known more commonly Chopin can help save it. Players will get the chance to duel against 10 of the world’s most renowned pop stars. Forever Entertainment has once again taken 10 of Chopin’s classic tracks and give them modern twists and compositions, and when combined with the quirky story, there is a lot of players to enjoy here. Perhaps the coolest news, the game was announced this week and released today.
This could be one of the cutest games on the Switch yet, Puzzle Puppers is full of long boys and it’s your goal to stretch them out to their food bowls. Looks simple on the surface, could get tricky we think. This one is out on February 20th.
That is it for this week, I know a few of those games are ones I am going to keep my eye out for, what about you? If perchance you happen to have a game announcement coming up, be sure to let us know, via our Contact Us form.
