Games announced for Switch this week – 24/02 – 02/03
We are now at the Switch’s first birthday, well March 3rd at least, but how fast has the last 12 months gone. With more games coming to the Switch than we ever saw on Wii U, there was no shortage of games to play over the past year, and now we have more, as here are this weeks games announced for Switch.
Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics – The Forest of Fear
Developed by Auroch Digital, and based on the table-top game by Modiphius, players will get to play this strategic role-playing game where Allies trapped behind enemy lines must do what they can to uncover and foil a dastardly Nazi plot. As players play through the game, they will learn more about the plot and choices will change up the game, at this stage, we only have the logo and some development work, everything else is very early, but as the game is not meant to come out until later this year, they have time.
Rise & Shine
SuperMegaTeam has announced that Rise & Shine is coming to Switch, with some help from Adult Swim Games. Players will get to combine different genres, like arcade shooters, bullet hell and even puzzle platformers, in what is described as a think and gun game. Combing all that and getting through the levels will help you on your way to save Gamearth from the warmongering space grunts of Nexgen.
PAW Patrol: On a Roll
If you have young kids, chances are you are aware of PAW Patrol, where no pup is too small and no job is too big. Well now Outright Games and Nickelodeon have announced that Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Skye, Rocky, Zuma, Everest, Tracker and the human leader Ryder will be getting a video game with a release planned for sometime this Spring. Players will join the crew over 6 missions, where you will need to use each pup and their unique abilities in order to rescue their friends and keep the community safe. Sadly, we have nothing image or video wise to share at this point.
I, Zombie
Once you were a human, like everyone else, but that doesn’t matter anymore. Your sole purpose is simple – eat as many brains as possible and turn everyone into your kind. Become a leader of your horde and infect all the humans on the map. Whenever you turn another poor human being into a brainless, green-skinned creature, you gain full control over their existence. Command your horde of zombies and live your undead life to its fullest.
Neonwall
It’s time to escape and in Neonwall, you will do that by using the Joy-Con as you drag, change colour and shoot a variety of blocks to get through the levels and while the game is launching with over 30, more are planned to be released in the future. With multiple game modes and support for various controllers, the game is going to offer a lot for players, perhaps the best part though, is that the game is expected to release on March 17th.
Zoids Wild
If you were a child of the 90’s, then there is a chance you remember Zoids, well the series is making a return. While the initial release will be that of the actual models you can build, a video game has been announced for Switch, but that is it. The new series is known as Zoids Wild, but we are not sure if the Switch game will have that as its name, or will contain more, details are expected at an event sometime during the Winter months.
2064: Read Only Memories Integral
Something a little different now, this is a game that is described as “retrofuturistic take on the point-and-click adventure genre”, if that is a genre. You are a struggling journalist and your life is turned upside down with the arrival of ROM named Turing, the world’s first sapient machine. Together, you and the quirky denizens of Neo-San Francisco, will have to discover the secrets between the technology and humanity that the city is known for.
Metropolis Lux Obscura
Ever wanted to be the star of your very own Noir style adventure, how about that, while playing a match-3 type of game, well if you thought that combination was what you wanted, then Metropolis: Lux Obscura is for you. The game is not for young players, even if the main game genre is known to the younger crowd, the game is expected to launch in early April.
Do any of these games strike your fancy, perhaps you are excited for some PAW Patrol, well at least to entertain your little ones, in any event, quite the mix of games announced this week. As always, if you have a game coming to Switch, let us know by using the Contact form.
Oh wow I almost ignored Neon Wall but that could be wicked fun with the motion controls!
2064 looks really cool too, and I’m sliiightly intrigued by the Zombie one.
