Another massive week for Switch game announcements
Wow.. what a week. Not only did we get an awesome Direct a few weeks back, the following week saw a massive amount of games announced for the Switch and then Nintendo went and announced a Nindie Showcase, meaning even more games announced. This week, rather than making you scroll for 45 minutes, we are doing things a little differently, first up is a list of all the games announced during the Showcase, then the rest of the games announced during the week.
That is an impressive list, 5 massive series covered there and that was not all that was announced, here are the rest of the games for the week.
From Sobaka Studio comes 9 Monkeys of Shaolin, a new take on the old school beat ’em up genre. You take on the role of Wei Cheng, as he sets off on a quest of revenge, as the members of his village and his family were killed in a pirate raid. Get your trusty battle staff ready for a challenging adventure in Medieval China and for merciless fights with hordes of various enemies. Look for this sometime this Spring, outside of the season, we have no idea of its release.
Farsight Studios has announced that The Pinball Arcade is coming to Switch, which is the latest platform to get the game and it even came to Ouya. With tables from Star Trek, Harley-Davidson and Terminator, there is a classic table here for all. The developer has promised monthly content updates, giving players access to more tables, if the currently announced 25+ were not enough for you. The game has not release date as of yet, but when it does, we shall let you know.
Developer Amplify is giving players control, as you are a Faceless One: a one-armed, gun-wielding assassin of legend. The seven deities of Polygod will test your skill with randomly generated arenas of hostile minions, followed by a boss fight against a ruthless Holy Champion. The art style, while seemingly basic is actually inspired by the meta-physical surrealist artist Giorgio de Chirico who is famously revered for his eerie mood and strange artificiality of cityscapes. The game is out at the end of April, so not long to wait for this one.
Ever wanted to be a shepherd, well Handy Games has you covered as Clouds & Sheep 2 is coming to Switch. You will need to plant grass, flowers, trees and more, while also maintain your sheep, by keeping then shorn and entertained, because they really want your attention. Using different tools, like trampolines and seesaws, there is no limit to how you can entertain them. We have no word on a release date as of yet, but keep your eyes on us, because as soon as we do, you will know.
From developer LEAP Game Studios comes Tunche, a 2D, beat ’em up game with rogue-like elements, a hand-drawn art and is set in the Amazon rainforest. Think of it like this: Lost Castle meets Rogue Legacy in the jungle. Players will have a unique experience every time they start their journey into the jungle, always traversing different paths, facing fantastic creatures based in animals of the area and collecting experience points to level up and buy skill upgrades.
Cypronia released Cube Life: Island Survival on Wii U and they have now announced its coming to Switch, in Special Edition form. Players will get to experience a block based survival game, there really is not much more to say about it, as the game has been out before. Its coming to PC next month, but all we know is sometime this Autumn for Switch.
From Mario to Zelda, to Splatoon to Donkey Kong. Everything on Nintendo Music.
More games will be added on December 24th and December 30th.
