Games announced for Switch this week – 13/05 -19/05
While the past few weeks had been quiet, last week had another massive amount of games announced for Switch and this week, we are seeing it happen again.
Super Neptunia RPG
A girl awakens in this world with no recollection of anything beyond her name, Neptune, and soon realizes she possesses great strength. With her newfound sense of heroism and a strange book known as Histoire in hand, she sets off on a journey to see if there might be more than this two-dimensional life. This also marks the first ever Neptunia game to release on a Nintendo platform, and will include both English and Japanese audio options.
Mecha Storm
Mecha Storm is an action-packed third-person RPG that invites players to strap into large mech units and battle it out in mech vs mech combat. Players will have to strategically utilize different mech types and upgrades to claim victory in over 50 fast-paced battles that take place on alien worlds. Players get to customize their teams, and swap in and out their mech units during battle to defeat the enemy and save the galaxy. It also marks the first ever game from Korean studio ENP Games that was not on a mobile phone and the best news, it launches next week.
Speed Brawl
Speed Brawl is a 2D combat-racer about moving fast and hitting hard! Maintain your momentum, build your combos, and unleash powerful special moves. Find your own fighting style, and assemble the finest team of brawlers ever seen. Then do it all again faster… faster… FASTER!!! With six unique fighters and local and online co-op, there will be lots for players to enjoy here.
VA-11 HALL-A
VA-11 HALL-A puts a twist on traditional point and click games with the story branching based on bartending decisions. Chat with customers and serve them life-changing drinks as Jill, a bartender at a dive bar frequented by average citizens in a cyberpunk future ruled by megacorporations. With 2 dozen drinks to make, you will have to select the correct drink for the correct situation, but only your bartender skills will let you know what that is.
UBOOT
Ever wanted to control your very own German U-Boat, well in UBOOT you can. To survive you will have to learn how the boat is built and how it works. You will also need to find out strengths and weaknesses of the crew. The boat will suffer damage during the battles but also break down because of fatigue. As things break, you will need to assign the correct crew member to repairing them, so having the right crew onboard is going to be crucial.
The Warlock of Firetop Mountain
The Warlock of Firetop Mountain is a tabletop adventure come to life! This fantasy solo RPG combines unique, simultaneous turn-based combat with a journey that changes based on each figurine you take into Firetop Mountain! Which hero will you take into Zagor’s lair THIS time? The game is a modern recreation of the book of the same name, created by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone, co-founders of Games Workshop, perhaps the best news for us, it is made in here in Australia.
The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker
You are a psychiatrist, trying to solve a murder whilst treating the unusual patients of the recently deceased Doctor Dekker. Ask any questions and collect the evidence as you uncover the identity of the randomly generated murderer whilst figuring out how to fix the chaos left behind. This FMV murder mystery is steeped in Lovecraftian influences and gives players full freedom to question suspects by typing their own questions or by picking from a predetermined list. The game is set to launch in only a matter of weeks as well, so not long to go.
303 Squadron: Battle of Britain
The enemies are close, would you dare to join the Squadron? Tweak planes in a 1st person mechanic mode, set the clouds on fire in aerial fights sim and discover extra missions in an open world of RAF Base. Enjoy a gameplay based on a real history and become the Ace of Sky. The gameplay is entirely based on historical events. All the characters, missions, even planes’ mechanics is precisely and realistically recreated in order to deliver the most exciting, unique and inimitable experience
BOSSGARD
WHO’S THE BOSS? Well, it’s finally you! Choose from a variety of unique bosses that are yours to command! Strike fear in your enemies as a mighty fortress or keep them on edge as an angry slice of bread, it all depends on how bossy you feel today!
Giraffe and Annika
While hinted at earlier in the year, it was only recently at BitSummit, that we got confirmation that Giraffe and Annika is coming to Switch. While no date has been given, players can at least expect to explore the mysterious island of Spika, as the neko Annika. Multiple dungeons will need to be cleared, with the final bosses defeated through a music-based battle system. The more you progress, the more of Annika’s memories you will recover.
Ultra Space Battle Brawl
Sit next to your opponent in this couch party battle game that will make your neighbor wish you were not there, or they were there with you making noise and have a really great time together. With simple control and concept that is easy to learn but hard to master, the game focuses on bringing everyone together to enjoy moments of fun. Rest your thoughts and enjoy the adrenaline rush of short yet highly replayable experience.
Cat Quest II – The Lupus Empire
Announced via Twitter, Cat Quest was a solid adventure game and now the studio behind it, The GentleBros are bringing the sequel to the Switch as well, though that is all we know.

Shadows of Adam
Tucked away from the outside world by the impenetrable haze of the Misty Woods, the village of Adam has mostly lived in peace since the days of the Wraith War. Magic, the dark power that fueled that war has vanished. But darkness is descending once more and Adam’s legendary hero, Orazio, is no more. The Switch release is the console debut of this much loved RPG, having been released on PC earlier.
So a baker’s dozen this week and with how close we are to E3, expect more announcements ahead of the show and then plenty of hands on from the show. Do any of these games grab your interest?
