What a year, can you believe just how many games came to Switch, so many, that I am sure we missed a few over the past 12 months. This will be the last wrap up for the year, as most studios will be closing down for the holiday season, so with that being said, here are the games announced this past week.
The Bergson family has guarded Mount Morta for generations but now face their most dangerous trial. Corruption has spread, morphing the once peaceful mountain into a violent and monster-infested nightmare. Take part in their journey and experience what it means to be in a family of heroes. An emotional roguelike with gorgeous pixel-art, Children of Morta combines a powerful narrative of familial ties with intense hack-and-slash gameplay in an ever-changing world. Choose the best character for your playstyle, craft new items for your adventure, and fight to find out what is the real source of evil.
Players will be able to seamlessly swap between Sanzang, Wukong, Kihong, and Sandmonk – even mid-combo – as our heroes journey west across four vastly different environments in order to hunt for the scattered remnants of the Sacred Scroll. Play solo, up to four player local co-op, or PvP (local, online) and face the terrible challenges that lay ahead. The game is inspired by the legendary Chinese novel Journey to the West.
Octahedron is a psychedelic neon action platformer in which the player defies gravity by pulling platforms from thin air, while surfing through its levels to a driving beat. The game’s soundtrack, a vibrant array of uplifting and atmospheric tunes, from chiptune trance over synthwave to progressive house, has been turning heads since its original release! It features music by Chipzel, André Sobota, Monomirror, and others. With subtly evolving rhythm elements, Octahedron encourages players to get into the flow of its hypnotizing beats.
That is the end of the wrap ups for the year, if we missed a game, be sure to let us know and we shall pick this back up in 2019.
