Well here is everything else, not listed in the Direct
What a week, not only did we get a Nintendo Direct, which is always exciting, not only did we get details on some already announced games, but we got word of a new Super Smash Bros game and more, check out all the news from the direct here. Due to the direct, we held this off for another day, but without any further delay here are the other games announced for Switch this week.
AurumDust has announced that their narrative-focused, tactical RPG, which also contains a smattering of rogue-like, will be heading to Nintendo Switch later this year. The game is coming to PC first and was funded via Kickstarter. The game is set to feature a story where the complexity and ambiguity of moral choice are everywhere and any of your characters can die, plus if that was not enough, the game is also set to feature and extensive online PVP mode.
Good Shepherd has announced that Semblance is coming to Nintendo Switch, the only console its announced for. Players will take on the roll of Squish, in a puzzle game where both Squish and the vast majority of the world are deformable. Players will need to make their way through many stages in order to discover what has brought this infestation of hard materials into the world. No specific release date has yet been provided, only 2018
Originally released in arcades, those large rooms with lots video games and cheap toys, QUByte has announced that Vasara and Vasra 2 are going to be remastered and released for Switch in 2019. The games use a two button attack system and features multiple characters and once you fill your Vasara metre, you will be able to launch a massive melee attack that will do lots of damage. Combining all that will see you take down Ieyasu Tokugawa before he can take control of Japan
Everyone loves blowing things up, so with this new Bomberman, I mean Bombslinger game from Mode4, you can live that explosive action again. Here you will don the poncho of the Bombslinger, a former ruthless bandit turned rancher, as he sets out on a journey to avenge the brutal murder of his wife. You will get to blast your way through randomly generated levels, as you hunt down, the Gunslinger. But if that was not enough for you, there is also a 4-player battle mode, for some classic local blasting action
Mixed amongst all the new yesterday was a bit of developer goodness, GameMaker Studio 2 will now officially support Nintendo Switch and for gamers, that might be a bit of news, but for some developers, it a massive thing. Case in point, ENDESGA studio from New Zealand, kind of had a freak out on Twitter, announcing that they will be bringing the game over to Switch, making it a priority over all the other console builds. Sadly apart from the image above, and their word, we have nothing else to add to this for now.
HyperBrawl is a sport that combines ‘no-rules’ hyper speed handball with brutal player vs. player combat, where only the bravest and most skilled competitors will be victorious. Compete in epic local/online multiplayer battles of 1v1 or 2v2 or single player trials to improve and challenge your core warrior skills. You can watch a match below, to get an idea on how the game will play. The only console the game is noted for is Switch, but no release date has been announced as of yet.
Originally released for the 3DS, the EX version of the game is set to bring HD visuals, a new local co-op mode and some gameplay enhancements, such as smarter AI, but it will retain the classic RPG balance it was known for. The game features classic “hack-and-slash” gameplay where players can freely move between three different planes of action and attack enemies using a variety of powerful fighting combos, lock-on and burst systems. Over 50 different characters are playable and upgradeable throughout multiple game modes, including Campaign, Free Play and Bonus Quests.
Dive into the relaxing and refreshing atmosphere of Swim Out, a strategic, turn-based puzzle game, that will transport you into a sunny day by the swimming pool, the river or the sea. Plan each of your strokes wisely and be sure to never cross any other swimmer’s path if you want to peacefully enjoy the sea view on a cosy chaise-longue.
What happens when BlazBlue fighter Ragna, loses to many battles, his partner DeadSpike-san decides it might be his fault and that if he eats a lot, he will get stronger and together they won’t lose. So in what is described as a Food Gobbling Rhythm Game, you need to use the left and right shoulder buttons in order to eat the food as it comes your way. Select either Ragna and DeadSpike-san or one of another two playable pairs, the best news though, is that the game is out at the end of the month.
Coming from Italian studio Lunar Great Wall Studios, Another Sight is a puzzle/platformer game set in a fantasy adventure in the year 1899. Players will get to meet Kit, a refreshingly bold teenager, who loses her sight after the under-construction London Underground tunnel she was exploring collapses, and Hodge – a mysterious red-furred cat – she meets in darkness. Together they will discover a world far beneath London, inspired by artists and inventors such as Monet and Jules Verne
I feel at this point there is not much I need to say about Another World, seeing as it’s one of those games that everyone should know, but Dotemu has announced it is coming to Switch now, bring its total number of platforms released upon to 18, as it was released back in the day on the Super Nintendo as well. Players will get to know Lester Knight Chaykin, a young and rather talented physicist, when one of his experiments goes wrong, he finds himself upon an alien planet and in a variety of dangerous situations.
Rising Star Games has announced they are working with Daylight Studio to bring all three of their Holy Potatoes games onto Switch, but that is it, we have the logos and a brief description of each game, but nothing else. We know they are planned for release sometime this Autumn, but nothing specific beyond that. Here are the descriptions for each of the games.
Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! is a wacky simulation game where players manage adorable potato smiths as they forge wonderful weapons for very unexpected heroes. There are tons of cheesy/witty puns and lots of pop culture references.
Holy Potatoes! We’re in Space?! is a roguelike, space adventure game with management elements. Traverse through space with Cassie and Fay to find and rescue their grandfather, Jiji, from the evil clutches of the Eclipse!
Holy Potatoes! What the Hell?! is a hell-themed management sim where you sort potato sinners into cooking stations to create sinfully delicious ingredients and cook up scrumptious recipes to appease the Gods of the Afterlife.
What do you think, a really interesting breakdown of games announced this week, of course, there were more announced earlier in the week like the Framed Collection, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy and One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition. As always, if you have a game coming to Switch, be sure to let us know.
Gotta go fast.
It is a Holiday Gaming Extravaganza
