If true, the news would reflect a similar move made recently by Nintendo who broke down the original Electroplankton music-puzzle game into several separate games for distribution on DSiWare. The potential availability of the games on DSiWare would make them available to gamers who are unable to obtain the much sought-after ‘Game and Watch Collection’ currently only available to Club Nintendo members.
Keep in mind that the Game and Watch Collection for DS was never released in Europe, and this may simply be a registration of the trademarks in preparation for the retail release of the complete compilation.
The Game and Watch games are perfectly suited for the digital distribution service, offering a simple but addictive retro gaming experience, and the hypothesized cost of 200 points apiece would be just the right price. Other Nintendo games under the Game and Watch moniker include ‘Donkey Kong’, ‘Parachute’ and ‘Octopus’
