My horn can pierce the sky
We sat through a torturously long livestream for a small glimpse at it, but now Galarian Ponyta is 100% official — and it’s glorious.
The Pokémon Company finally pulled the curtain off of Galarian Ponyta (again) today, with a new trailer and a bunch of new info uploaded to the Pokémon website. Galarian Ponyta is a pure Psychic-type Pokémon, known as the “Unique Horn Pokémon” in the Galar region — no doubt a nod to Scotland’s national animal, the unicorn.
Said to have been transformed over the generations in the depths of Glimwood Tangle — the forest we spent 24 hours staring at over the weekend — this fancy new Ponyta comes with a fancy new ability called Pastel Veil. Pastel Veil is a powerful ability that prevents it, and any of its allies, from being poisoned in battle. It’ll also heal any ally Pokémon of poisoning upon switching in, making it a prime candidate for any competitive team.
Galarian Ponyta will be exclusive to Pokémon Shield, a counterpart of sorts to its fellow Kanto-turned-British creature Sirfetch’d, which is exclusive to Pokémon Sword.
It's Black, Back Again.
If these aren't the coolest graphics...
