Fully featured FIFA 12 announced for the Nintendo 3DS
EAs ticked all the boxes on this one, everything you can imagine
EAs first two efforts on the Nintendo 3DS were pretty crap; both The Sims 3 and Madden were bare bones shells of the games they were meant to represent. However EA has just come out windmill punching, announcing a fully fledged FIFA 12 for the console, and it has almost everything a football fan could want.
Its being touted by EA as the most feature-filled handheld football game ever and theyre probably not lying. The game will feature eight different game modes, over 500 real teams, new touch screen controls and not only will it have 3D normal football, of course, but it will also be the first game to have have 3D Street Football.
"We challenged our development team to develop innovative features that would maximize the FIFA experience on 3DS. They delivered intuitive new touch screen controls and a curved pitch in our Street mode that truly brings the 3D elements to life," says Matt Prior, producer of the game.
It seems EA is pulling out all the stops on the Street Football gaming, with the curved pitch not only presenting a greater 3D effect but also utilising different camera angles to make it look even better. The Street Football will be classic 5-versus-5 play in real stadiums and also, well, "exotic" locations on the streets. The Be A Pro mode will return for the 3DS version, where youll be able to build your own pro football player to be try and be the best in the world.
Online fans, youre not left out either as the game will feature full 11-vs-11 online multiplayer over the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Tournament Mode and Training mode are also in there to round out the package.
FIFA 12 will be out later this year and is being developed by EA Canada.
PES better watch out, EAs bringing its A-game.
