Full downloadable games on the way to Nintendo DS

Reggie Fils-Aime has revealed in a recent interview that Nintendo plans to offer full games for download to Nintendo DS consoles. While demos have been offered for the system since launch back in late 2004/early 2005, Nintendo has finally broken the silence regarding full downloadable games through a similar service. In the interview, Reggie says that connectivity between the Wii and DS will help this service. More inside He then gave an example of downloading a game via your Wii console and then transferring it to your Nintendo DS, however, it seems storage issues on both the Wii and DS would place limitations on the content that could be offered with this service. The Wii has a limited amount of onboard flash memory that would quickly be consumed by a large DS game while the DS itself lacks any sort of onboard storage.

The first game to use the new service is not far off either. Nintendos Professor Layton and the Curious Village will have downloadable content in the form of new puzzles via the Wii when it launches in February in the US (no Australian date yet).

Could February see the Everyones Nintendo Channel being launched outside of Japan? This would probably be the most likely method of distributing this content. Heres hoping so!
