When it actually arrives, who knows.
Niantic have today put up a blog post detailing the next update to the game that should be arriving soon. Before you ask, no – it’s not the updated tracker.
This update will return to the Pokémon detail screen the location of where you caught that particular Pokémon. Soon after launch it stopped working and was removed, no doubt due to Google Maps getting hammered.
The other update is an improvement for Pokemon Go Plus users, you will now be alerted when an Pokémon lured via Incense appeared. Previously only Pokémon in the wild and lured Pokemon on PokéStops notified you on the Plus.
There’s no exact release date for this year, last time Niantic pushed an update some Android users got it before others and then the iOS update was caught up in the iOS10 update rush. We’ll let you know on social media when it’s up.
