Mistwalker, the company founded by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, have released a new trailer for their upcoming Wii RPG The Last Story, and it surprisingly doesnt look much like Final Fantasy. The all Japanese trailer shows off the new rea...
The all Japanese trailer shows off the new real-time battle system, full of swordplay, gunplay, devastating magic attacks and a cover system, floppy hair, giant swords, a massive boss, and some cutscenes. The visuals look just about on par with the Wiis other upcoming JRPG, Xenoblade, except for the fact that the characters and environments look a lot darker and grittier.
A town was also shown, but its how the characters interact with the background objects that is interesting. Birds fly out of the way, characters get pushed back when bumped into etc.
The Last Story was announced for the Wii early this year as a collaboration between Mistwalker and Nintendo. It is set for a 2010 Japanese release. An English release has not been announced.
