A big day for Dragon Quest fans
Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition is just around the corner, with the latest title in the Dragon Quest series releasing on the 27th of September. For fans of the series though, that date just got a whole lot more interesting.
Square Enix have announced that Dragon Quest, Dragon Quest II, and Dragon Quest III will release on the Nintendo Switch eShop in North America and Europe (and by extension, Australia) alongside the new game. These three games initially released on the NES in Japan and the US, but never saw a console release in Europe — though mobile ports of the games were available worldwide in 2014.
The Switch ports were announced to be coming to Japan weeks ago, but now with a Western release confirmed, Dragon Quest fans have a lot to be excited for when next Friday rolls around. Pricing has yet to be confirmed for Australia, but in the US, Dragon Quest will be sold for $4.99 USD, Dragon Quest 2 for $6.49 USD, and Dragon Quest 3 for $12.49 USD. We’ll update this article when we know Aussie pricing.
There is no plan for a physical release for three three titles, but Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition will be getting a release on store shelves the same day. You can shop around for the best bargain by clicking here to read our Bargain Guide.
