Capcom has now released a new trailer for Okamiden that contains much more gameplay footage than the first small video made for the Tokyo Game Show. The framerate is considerably faster in this trailer, which should alleviate some people’s concerns about whether the DS will run the game well.
The video contains Kuninushi, the young son of Susano the swordsman from the original game, helping Chibiterasu along as part of the partner system in the game. You can see the standard ’slash’ celestial brush technique making a return from the home console version, as well as another power that leads your partner to things (in this case, a treasure chest). The combat system seems very similar too, with Demon Scrolls again making an appearance.
Okamiden has a tentative 2010 release date.
