Sanyo has announced the first officially licensed charger dock for the Wii. The ‘Contactless Charger Set for the Wii Remote Control’ will go on sale in Japan on 25 August. What makes this charger dock so interesting is that it uses a special technique that does not require the battery pack to be “”plugged in””. The battery pack just has to sit in the cradle and through a magnetic induction process, it charges the battery. More inside This means that those Wii Remote jackets never have to come off ever again. The only problem is that it is so far only going to be released in Japan. Each dock will cost 5500 (AU$54) and up to four can be linked. More details are available at the Japanese Sanyo website.
