Fire Emblem goes to school.

As promised, Nintendo showed off more of the upcoming battlefield waifu simulator, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, giving us a five-minute look at what to expect.

Unsurprisingly, Three Houses features, well, three factions to choose from; Black Eagles, Blue Lions, and the Golden Deer, which are all houses of the Officer’s Academy at which the characters study.

Playing as either a male or female professor of one of the houses, you’ll be instructing the students in the art of battle. Going out on field assignments to fight against bandits and knights, it seems like students can die permanently, carrying on the high stakes tradition of the Fire Emblem series.

Studying forms a core component of Three Houses, where you’re able to direct students to study specific skills and disciplines, such as magic, or wielding different weapons. It looks like a more fleshed-out method of upskilling and upgrading in comparison to previous Fire Emblem games, offering a robust method of diversifying your troops’ specialties in battle.

Additionally, the collector’s Seasons of Warfare Edition was announced, which will include an artbook, sound selection CD, and a calendar, which will also release at the same time as the base game on July 26.
