Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation for Switch reference hidden in source code for Warriors
Some people have been sifting through the HTML source of Nintendo Switch game pages and come across something interesting. The page for Fire Emblem Warriors which was announced last Friday also makes mention of Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation but for the Nintendo Switch.
While this doesn’t in any way confirm the game it’s highly suspicious. There’s a Nintendo Direct focusing on Fire Emblem tomorrow (January 18th), Nintendo tweeted about the Direct but didn’t say anything about what it would contain.

It’s possible however that this is just a leftover template and whoever coded the page made a mistake. The Nintendo Direct could just be about the mobile game and/or Fire Emblem Warriors.
Whatever it is we’ll find out before the week’s out.

It’s very likely that Fates will be available, if not as a launch title, then as an HD port for the Switch. The cutscenes are all available in HD as evidenced by the Japan-exclusive soundtrack set (which I own) which includes a DVD data disc containing HD renderings of the FMV scenes from the game.
The most likely reason why it wasn’t announced sooner is due to the fact that Fates is a fairly recent release, and Nintendo naturally would not want to cannibalise sales of the 3DS instalments (which were recently issued a rerelease with an amiibo + NFC reader in the box). I wouldn’t mind double-dipping for the ability to play it on TV, but I think I’ll stick with the 3DS version for portability.
It looks like a mistake.
If you go to the Super Mario Odyssey game page and inspect the Pokemon Moon with bonus figure it says “Pokémon Moon with bonus Lunala Figure for nintendo switch” but the picture is for the 3DS.
If you go to the The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game page and inspect the The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for WiiU it says “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for nintendo switch”
If you go to the FIFA game page and inspect Mario and Sonic it says “Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games for nintendo switch”
If you go to the Just Dance 2017 game page and inspect Rhythm Heaven Megamix it says “Rhythm Heaven Megamix for nintendo switch”
