Fire Emblem Fates is out May 21st with special edition game, limited edition hardware
The wait is over, Fire Emblem Fates has a release date for Australia, New Zealand and Europe! The game will be released in Australia and New Zealand on April 21st.
As Nintendo mentioned last year there will be a special edition of the game that contains all three stories. For making us wait they’re adding a double sided poster to the package which contains the game, a CD, art book and a steel case. The special edition game will set you back $129.95AUD but remember comes with all three games; Birthright, Conquest and Revelation.
If you’re into Limited Edition hardware well Nintendo have something for you too, there’s a New 3DS XL model on the away adorned with cool Fire Emblem artwork. That’s the standard 3DS XL price of $249.95 – that does not include the game.

The date in the title does not match the one in the article…
“The game will be released in Australia and New Zealand on April 21st.”
Pretty sure it releases May 21st, doesn’t it???
Any idea where whether there are stores still taking pre-orders for the special edition bundle? Only online source I could find was a sold out EB
That’s actually a good price on the special edition (EB were overly optimistic thinking they can get away with charging $200 for it… in fact, it wouldn’t surprise if they did try to get away with doing that), and I hadn’t noticed that it also included a CD, which is great news as I loved the soundtrack of Awakening, and I hope that I’ll feel the same about Fates.
My EB claimed the Special Edition game was exclusive to them and that they are already sold out from before the official announcement. I haven’t been able to confirm if it actually is exclusive though – I even called Nintendo Australia and they weren’t sure.
We are super keen to get it but it’s not good form if we have no chance of getting it after the official Australian announcement claiming it’s availability.
