Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia coming to 3DS May 20
The opening to the Fire Emblem Nintendo Direct revealed a brand new retro-inspired adventure; Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, which will arrive on the Nintendo 3DS on May 20.
Wearing its history proudly, Echoes is inspired by the NES title Fire Emblem Gaiden – a game which was never released outside of Japan.
Starring dual protagonists, Alm and Celica, Echoes follows the Fire Emblem traditional setting of a war-torn land – this time set in the continent of Valentia.
Unlike previous games in the series, Echoes features gameplay sections of free-roaming dungeon-crawling, in addition to the rich strategy and character progression Fire Emblem fans have come to know.
To coincide with the game’s release, an Alm and Celica amiibo will be available for purchase, continuing Nintendo’s line of impressively-made figurines.
There were a number of other major Fire Emblem announcements made this morning which will be covered in full here on Vooks. You can also re-watch the Nintendo Direct to gaze upon the beautiful art of Fire Emblem.

Seriously though, this looks fantastic. My 3DS has provided so many good times and it looks set to continue!
Did someone say towns and dungeons?! I’M IN, BABY.
I thought I wouldn’t be buying anymore 3DS games this year. I was wrong.
