Sans Frostbite, but we're glad they're trying again.
When FIFA 18 came to the Switch, no one was 100% confident we’d get the next installment.
But fear not, FIFA 19 will be coming to the Switch and the game’s developers are promising some improvements. The news comes from an interview with the games supervising director.
FIFA 19 on Switch again won’t use EA’s Frostbite engine, but they’re not ruling it out in the future.
I’m not closing the door on that possibility. However we didn’t want to create a dumbed-down version of the Frostbite engine. The intent was never to have a one-off custom engine that were never going to touch again. It was to have that as a baseline and then build from there.
Instead, the game will build on the base of FIFA 18, some improvements have already made their way into the World Cup mode which came out last month.
It’s good to see FIFA return and more investment in the Switch from EA.
Get in quick, they go fast.
