More confusion today as EA has announced the lineup for its EA Play 2017 fan event during E3. The company has listed the games that will be playable at the event and FIFA 18 is listed there, but so is ‘EA Sports FIFA on the Nintendo Switch”. Uh oh…
EA previously reassured everyone that FIFA on the Switch would be “FIFA 18” and has said that the main development team is working on a “custom version” for the Switch. The differentiation in the game’s title is again once causing concern if they’re not going to call it FIFA 18 is it really going to be feature complete?
We’re used to getting watered down ports of FIFA on the Wii, Wii U and even the 3DS. Of course, those systems weren’t nearly as powerful as anything else on the market and did require some differences – the same shouldn’t really apply to the Switch.
With E3 less than a month away now, maybe we’ll just wait and see what happens with the game there – but we wouldn’t hold our breath.
Would a less-featured FIFA 18 change your purchase decision regarding what console you buy the game on? Let us know in the comments.
