A Farewell to Servers: Pokémon Go to launch in Japan tomorrow

3000 McDonalds to become Gyms

It’s been reported that Pokemon Go will finally arrive in Japan tomorrow, not only that but the first sponsored gym deal will also go live – with McDonalds.

Over 3000 outlets will be ‘transformed’ into Pokemon Gyms within the game. Tomorrow is the last day of school for Japanese students before their summer.

This report however does directly contracdict what Niantic have said in the past that the game would not launch in Japan until possibly August – however if you had a big marketing deal just around the corner you’d probably say anything to throw people off the scent.
