World Exclusive: Sleepio is Nintendo’s next smartphone title [April Fools]
Nintendo might have only just finished rolling out its first smartphone application minutes ago, but the second one is already on the way!
Those hoping for more a game this time around may be disappointed as Nintendo is heading more into application territory with the rebirth of their Quality of Life program.
Introducing Sleepio!
Instead of a device that helps you sleep, Nintendo has created an application that work towards that end. After filling out a short survey the application will run you through what you need to do to get a good night’s sleep. It can help with getting to sleep, staying asleep and just having a better sleep quality.
We’ve had a play with the app over the past week and have to say we’re quite refreshed. We’ll be going deeper into the application now that it’s announced and explaining how it works.
The application is out later today, April 1st 2016.
Are you sure this has anything to do with QoL? This sounds like a basic sleep app akin to Sleep Clock on DSi (which is probably one of the more popular apps on DSi/3DS).
April Fools?
If this was a real thing though I’d probably try it out as I’m not a great sleeper myself.
Sleepio is a real website (https://www.sleepio.com) – I’ve used it and found it extremely useful.
Comon Vook, it’s not April 1 in Perth yet! 😉
This is actually quite a believable April Fools… the only thing that caught me up was ‘World Exclusive’ and ‘we’ve had a play with the app’. No offence… wish you guys had that kind of access!
Good April fools based around the fact everyone is up at 3 am playing Miitomo.
The thing that most convinced me was “The application is out later today”. Considering how long we have known about Miitomo and the time it took for it to actually launch, I knew it was extremely unlikely for this “new app” to be announced and launch on the same day.
But props for the execution, had I not learnt over the years to be skeptical of everything I read on April Fools Day, you may of had me convinced 😉
The funny thing is… Sleepio is an actual app on the App store! Even has the same concept.
Not only the same concept. This actually is Sleepio. Its screenshots of the actual Sleepio app, overlaid with Nintendo Miis.
lmao, this was pretty good!
I’d actually believed it up until the last paragraph! Good job!
