Today we went hands on with the latest Animal Crossing instalment for Wii. While Animal Crossing is hardly a game you can best experience in a few moments at an expo we have noted a few things about the game that werent in the previous and a few things that have stayed the same. Staying the same is the presentation of the game, the graphics the sound the text all the same Animal Crossing you know and love. Of course on a big LCD screen it looks really nice and bright compared to the lower resolution DS screen. More inside The game is controlled with the Wiimote and Nunchuck combo, something that feels a bit strange, while the pointer naturally helps you play the game, if the game is meant to be aimed at the hardcore as well as casuals will the casuals get the full remote setup? Movement is on the Nunchuck as is running on and off, but the Wiimote has the pickup and talk commands.

We played a section just after being dropped off in the village, the games setup is much the same as the other iterations of Animal Crossing, with Tom Nook offering you a job after giving you a house you cant afford. The games interface has had a tweaking to take advantage of the Wiimote. Along the bottom of the screen there are tabs that appear when you hover the pointer toward the bottom of the screen with your inventory, map, designs and the like. You can now also cycle through your tools like the shovel and fishing rod without needing to open the menu, a nice addition.

Animal Crossing Lets Go to The City is shaping up to be another great Animal Crossing game, while there are a bunch of new features and tweaks including the City in the game, the core of the game remains the same.

Nintendo Australia doesnt have a final date for Animal Crossing yet but its looking like December 4th.
