Uh-oh.
EB Games Australia has emailed some of its customers this afternoon to let them know that the The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds 3DS XL console they pre-ordered won’t be honored.
A reader has sent us the email sent to them explaining the situation, according to the email “Due to a mistake on our [EB Games’] part, we don’t have enough stock to fulfill all of our orders. As we allocate on a first come, first served basis this means that unfortunately your order cannot be fulfilled.”
There’s going to be a lot of disappointed Zelda fans out there this weekend.
EB Games are trying to make up for the error with a $30 gift card to use in-store on anything, they suggest that you can use it on A Link Between Worlds to get the game for half price. A small consolation compared to the rare and shiny gold 3DS XL console our reader assumed they would be receiving. It’s kind of unfair too as EB Games stores as of Thursday afternoon still have posters displaying the console in store.
Our reader tells us this is an order from the EB Games online store, we’re not sure if local store stock could be affected this way either. We recommend you ring your local store to confirm they have your 3DS XL, Xbox One launch be damned.
We will approach both EB Games Australia and Nintendo Australia for comment.
