Boom Blox, the Steven Spielberg developed Wii game, will feature some form of head tracking technology according to reports from the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco. Direct from the EA session at the Conference, GoNintendo said although the details were currently unclear, head tracking was definitely included in the game. More inside It requires a reversal of the normal Wii Remote and sensor bar setup so that the player controls movement by manipulating the sensor’s infrared lights. The sensor bar itself is not even required. Instead the same effect can be achieved with two infrared light sources on the player’s head.

This is an exciting development and again opens up so many more control possibilities for games on the Wii, especially when thinking about the effect this could have on the first-person shooter genre.
