Earth Seeker – a game for Wii from the maker of Street Fighter II

A new Wii action game has been announced from Crafts & Meister – a little-known studio which is now the home of Street Fighter II designer Noritaka Funamizu

The premise of the game is that spaceships from Earth housing the last vestiges of human civilisation have been sent out into space to ensure that mankind leaves its signature on the universe before being wiped out for unknown reasons. Following the crash-landing of these spaceships on foreign worlds, the ships then begin terraforming their new homes into Earth-like conditions. Players will assume control of giant monsters as they fight against hordes of mysterious creatures and elemental guardians of the invaded planets. Details on actual gameplay are scant, but it sounds to be more of a typical action-adventure and not a straight-out fighting game.

The game is masterminded by Noritaka Funamizu, best known for his work on Street Fighter II and its many sequels but also responsible for other classics Strider 2 and Dynasty Wars. The game is set to be released in Japan by Kadokawa Games, with no signs of a Western release just yet.
