The forsaken titles make up the “bottom third” of the line up, says John Schappert

In some bad news for new IPs potentially in development at EA, the companys Chief Operating Officer, John Schappert, said in a conference that theyve dropped over a dozen games in development to reduce costs. Schappert explained it as a "targeted cost reduction which will allow a greater investment in our hit titles and digital businesses."

While Schappert couldnt share which projects were given up, he clarified by saying games that couldnt compare to the profitability of their yearly titles, The Sims franchise, and Hasbro games were what had been discontinued. "In a way," he said, "if you could array our title slate up… weve cut the bottom third of it."
