Electronic Arts are playing catch up as more and more people pick up a Wii and leave the PS3 on the shelves. Bloomberg is reporting that EA and other developers are scrambling to the Wii. “”Companies are backtracking”” said Anthony Gikas, an analyst at Piper Jaffray & Co. “”They’re going to need to get their best-branded product on that platform. That will take a good nine to 12 months.””

More Inside
For example the team who created The Godfather Blackhand Edition did so in under 8 months as EA realized 3.6 million Wii owners will want new games and since many other developers such as Take Two who currently have no games but are planning 3 for this year they realized they better do it sooner rather then later. Activision who have 5 titles on the Wii so far are planning another 6 for the year. Ubisoft however were one of the only major third parties to place a bet and put their full support behind the Wii. Now after Ubisofts sales have increased 27% last December Ubisoft vice president of marketing Tony Key says “”It’s not really a bet anymore””
