EA is the sole developer bundling MotionPlus
Peter Moore, EA executive, reaffirmed that EA are the only publisher to bundle the Wii MotionPlus with games – and thats including Nintendo.
He stated in the interview with Kikizo that ‘as far as I’m aware – and that’s the honest answer I can give you – I’m not aware of any other publisher – nor Nintendo – bundling in the Wii MotonPlus controller with any other piece of software. We haven’t seen any other announcements.’
The two games that will initially bundle MotionPlus are Grand Slam Tennis and Tiger Woods PGA 10. Speaking on Grand Slam’s release on Wii ahead of the other consoles, Moore said ‘Wimbledon wasn’t gonna move for us, so we decided to put it right in front of Wimbledon, which the development team marched to, then Wii MotionPlus came along, and we sat down with our friends at Nintendo, and they loved the idea.’
What’s the benefit if you get MotionPlus in the bundle? ‘Of course you’re getting half price on the controller if it’s part of the bundle,’ Peter says, and that’s a good enough reason to jump in if you already liked the look of these games. Just keep in mind that beyond those two games the next to take advantage of MotionPlus is Wii Sports Resort – and we don’t have an Australian release date on that yet.
