After a week of rumours, leaks and teases – the final E3 2016 trailer for LEGO Dimensions is here and there’s a couple of surprises.

Hold onto your hats, there’s a lot of announcements here and they all arrive at different times. There’s also a brand new ‘Story Pack’ format, which is the sole ‘new game’ this year.

Releasing on September 27th this year will be a brand new Ghostbuster Story Pack, this new pack includes a new ‘portal’ that features a Ghostbusters themed Chinese restaurant. Also when we say Ghostbusters, it’s the new Ghostbusters that’s releasing this year.

Story Packs also expand the Starter Pack story with deeper gameplay. In the game’s storyline, the evil Lord Vortech has hidden portions of his powers around the LEGO Multiverse. As players progress through Story Pack levels, they can unearth and tap into Keystone Runes to use Lord Vortech’s powers against him through all-new Toy Pad modes.

The other packs releasing on this date include an Adventure Time and Mission: Impossible Level Pack, Harry Potter and Adventure Time Team Packs, and The A-Team Fun Pack. We pity the fool who doesn’t buy that last one.

Then into 2017 there will be more packs including;

  • Adventure Time
  • Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (Starter Pack)
  • The LEGO Batman Movie (Starter Pack)
  • The Goonies
  • Sonic The Hedgehog
  • Teen Titans Go!
  • LEGO City Undercover
  • Mission Impossible
  • Knight Rider
  • The Powerpuff Girls
  • Gremlins, Beetlejuice
  • E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial

There’s no new Starter Pack required for any of these sets, if you bought the starter pack last year you can continue to use all of these expansions.

LEGO Dimensions is of course available on the Wii U, PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
