Intelligent Systems producer clarifies and debunks rumours about it's absence at this year's show.
During the recent roundtable for the newly announced original IP for the 3DS, Code Name S.T.E.A.M., a journalist took it upon themselves to ask about the Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei crossover collaboration title. Previously announced over a year ago in a January 2013 Nintendo Direct, there was some confusion as to whether to product was still in development. Especially after Atlus’ hard times recently.
Hitoshi Yamagami, a developer working at Intelligent Systems, the creative team behind Fire Emblem, Code Name S.T.E.A.M. and the collaboration itself has clarified the status of the title.
“No no no no no,” Yamagami said. “We’re right on schedule, but if I answer in any more detail I will lose my job so please have mercy on me.”
So there you have it! The game is still in the works and apparently “right on schedule”.
For old times sake, we’ve included the original announcement trailer below as a refresher. We have no new updates on the game at this time, but perhaps we’ll see more details either at E3 next year, Tokyo Game Show or even in another Nintendo Direct.
